Word and Image Journals

For the past 40 years, handmade unique books have been a breeding ground for my work: related to one painting, companions to a series of paintings, documenting the free-flowing ideas for future works, as travel journals, and notebooks with riddles, concrete poems, and thoughts. The books are the results of my early love for words and literature, and total fascination with drawing, calligraphy, manuscripts and maps, and the sensual qualities of paper. Before and after painting, I am a scribe-mapmaker-planner-architect.
